Q- How do I tie my drop away rest pull cord to X-Coated Cables?

A-There are several really good ways to tie a drop away cord to our X-Coat without removing it. The easiest by far, and also the most secure method I have seen came from some of our other shooters. What you can do is simply tie the cord to the cable using the same knot you would use to tie in a string loop. tie the other end to the rest and slide it down the cable until the pull string is tight. Then draw the bow. The knot on the cable will slide up the cable as the bow is drawn while holding the rest launcher in the up position. At that point you can slide the knot into whatever position you want to time the rest. then use small diameter serving thread such as 2-D to tie the equivalent of a tied on nock set ( using a series on overhand knots tied one on top of the other) on the cable above the loop knot. This will hold the loop knot from any upward movement. Since X-Coat is applied like a serving, the tied on nock set will bite into the coating and will not move. Q- Why is the split yolk portion of my buss cable not served as on other brands?

A- Our buss cables are pre-twisted to length before the serving is applied, and in such a way that the split length is between 5 1/2 " and 8" (depending on the length of the cable). By letting the twist determine the exact location of the split and not forcing the split into a certain location, we can make a more forgiving and stable buss cable. Many of the world’s top pro shooters have used this method on their own cables for the ultimate in consistent accuracy.

Q- Can I adjust the amount of twists in my string to fine tune my draw length, poundage, and cam position to match my own personal requirements?

A- Yes. Especially on the buss cables, you can add or subtract twists quite extensively to set your bow to your specific needs. If adding twists to your buss cable, we do not recommend the length of the split be shorter than 4". You may remove twists until the split reaches 9". The shooting string may also be adjusted, however it is recommended that not over 12 twists be added, and not more than 6 twists removed to maintain peep sight consistency. (this number is less for strings under 68")"

Q- What kind of life can I expect from my Winner’s Choice product?

A- Because of our exclusive and patented serving method, which guarantees no serving separation, you can expect an average of twice the life of any other production string of the same basic material. Of course this assumes proper care of the product, as well as properly functioning cams, cable slides, ECT. Also certain types of releases when attached directly to the bowstring can also cause premature wear.

Q- Why are Winner’s Choice products so expensive?

A- All Winner’s Choice products are constructed using our unique method. This method actually pre-stretches the strands of the string before assembly to remove movement in the finished product. Much of the assembly process is done by hand with painstaking care to assure that your sting performs at the highest possible level. As a final assurance to quality, each string is checked by a quality control professional before it is packaged. As with most things in life. ultimate quality simply takes more time to achieve, as a result is more expensive to produce.

Q- What is the difference between 8125 and 452 materials?

A- Right from the manufacturer the BCY 8125 material has more inherent movement the BCY 452. However, with our construction process we can remove almost all the movement in the 8125 material in most cases. This makes both materials very comparable in terms of stability, however some shooters, particularly in the target archery sector, feel that the 452 (which is 450+ in half sized strands) are slightly more stable. About 95% of our customers are using the 8125 material and experiencing great success. In Non-prestreched strings higher Vectran content found in 452x can help to maintain stability, however Vectran is a more brittle material, and may be more prone to speed loss, vibration, and usually has a shorter useful life than 100% Dyneema materials like 8125. Both of these materials are excellent choices for today's compound bows. We recommend you take into account your own preference and shooting style when making your final ordering decision

Q- What is the X-braid Plus serving, and how is it different from Halo and other manufacturers braids?

A- The exclusive Winner’s Choice X-Braid Plus serving has 60% more strength than other braided servings offered today. This is important because the added strength of the serving enables our patented serving system to install these servings with even more tension. This is necessary to prevent any serving separation from occurring, in fact we actually guarantee no serving separation on all our products*. X-Braid Plus is also more durable than other braids, and is available only on Winner’s Choice products. Halo center serving is recommended mainly for finger release shooters who prefer the slick surface of monofilament serving but need superior serving life.

Q- What does the warrantee cover?

A- Warranty - Because of the nature of our product, W.C.C.B products have no explicit warranty except as follows: Peep sights (such as True peep and Super Peep) installed as directed are guaranteed not to rotate on draw when used by a release shooter. All cam servings and center servings are guaranteed against serving separation. ( If properly installed, used and maintained as recommended on bows in good working order -properly aligned cams, good cable slide, etc. ). String creep beyond what is expected during break in period is also covered. These warranties extend for 1 year from the date of purchase. If you have a problem with any of our products, please contact W.C.C.B. If the problem is found to be the result of material or workmanship, W.C.C.B. may at its option, repair or replace the item. All warranty claims will be assessed by W.C.C.B. and the decisions will be final and uncontestable. (Certain center serving applications, especially when used with hard jaw releases, as well as problems arising from cable slides or improper installation, are not covered by warranty). Q- What bow models do you build strings for?

A- We build strings for all modern compound bows. Compounds with steel buss cables and teardrop ends must be Fast Flight compatible. We also build recurve strings for those models that are fast flight compatible.

Q- How do I care for my Winner’s Choice string?

A- Proper care of our product is very easy, but paramount in getting the most from your string. We recommend waxing your string frequently with Winner's Choice Ultimate String Conditioner or other synthetic based wax (bees wax is not recommended) to prevent fuzzing of the material. Also keep strings clean with Winner's Choice Ultimate String Cleaner to further increase the life of the product. Pay particular attention to any area that is contacted by string silencers, or any other outside object that causes fuzzing. Also watch for broken strands, and any thing that could cause strand breakage. Remember bowstrings are fragile, and are easily damaged by many factors.

Q- Are speed nocks installed on new strings?

A- We do not install the speed nocks on our strings that are on many one-cam strings. The reason for this is that research has shown that the exact placement as well as the number of nock sets on the string can greatly influence the speed and accuracy from the bow. There is no way for us to know the right set up for your exact situation. We do encourage the use of speed nocks on most single cam bows, however the exact combination really should be determined for your particular bow, arrow, draw length combination.

Q- My bow has lost poundage after I installed my new strings. Is this normal?

A-The normal cause of this problem is usually a problem with the strings you are removing. As the shooting string elongates, or "stretches" which is normal for most other string brands, the poundage as well as draw length increases. It is common for shooters to be unaware of this condition because it is usually a slow process and is many times not noticed by the shooter. When the string is replaced, even though it is now back to the factory specification, the poundage will be less than with the stretched out string. To regain the poundage tighten the limb bolts, or add twists to the buss cable until you achieve the desired poundage (it is not recommended to set the bow to a higher poundage than the manufactured rating). We do not recommend removing more than six twists from the shooting string as this can degrade peep sight consistency.

Q- If I do have a problem with my Winner’s Choice product, what can I do?

A- We here at Winner’s Choice are genuinely concerned about you, and want you to get the most from your purchase of our product. We want our product to be recognized world wide as the absolute finest product of it’s kind. Customer service is a big part of this, and we take this job very seriously. Q-What bows will the TRC system work on?

A- The TRC system will work on most single cam bows that have the buss cable and the return side of the string naturally crossing(without cable slide attached) above the shelf of the bow. This will exclude many bows such as the Q2XL, and 2002 Hoyt's, which have oversized top idler wheels

Q-What is X-Coat?

A- X-Coat is a very thin, transparent, synthetic material that is applied like a serving using our proprietary serving system. Once applied it is more of a coating in that the material binds to itself, and works as a protective barrier against abrasion wear.

Q- Where is X-Coat used?

A- X-Coat is being installed as an option by request on one cam strings, as well as all one and two cam buss cables in the area of the cable slide and beyond to prevent abrasion wear on the non-shooting string side of the system. X-coat is also an option over the center serving area. This option is designed to provide extra long life for those who shoot a hard jaw release right off the string. Remember to request X-Coat when ordering.

Q- What are the benefits of X-Coat?

A- benefits include greatly extended string and serving life, and lower maintenance. Also shooters will find increased reliability and accuracy especially in in climate weather conditions, as X-Coat provides a constant surface traveling through the cable slide, and helps to repel water from the string fibers.

Q- Can I apply X-Coat my self?

A- X-Coat is not serving in the true sense of the word. As such, it can only be effectively applied by our patented serving system. X-Coat will not work with hand serving tools, or conventional production string serving methods.

Q- Will X-Coat effect the speed of my Bow?

A- X- Coat will not negatively effect the speed of most bows. In fact, many customers report a speed increase of up to 3 fps with X-Coat due to the more constant surface going through the cable slide. Another benefit is that in inclimate weather conditions, X-Coat provides an extra barrier between water and the string material. This provided increased string stability, as well as a more consistent surface for the cable slide to travel on no matter what the weather.

Q- What is the best cable slide for Winner's Choice strings?

A- Although nearly all cable slides work well with Winner's Choice Strings, we recommend the Winner's Choice Delrin Weather Tamer Cable Slide for the best string life and performance in the most demanding weather conditions.
