Ricardo Longoria has been hunting with a bow and arrow for the past 25 years. He has had the opportunity to bowhunt on six continents, harvesting more than 1,000 animals of 125 big game species. He enjoys hunting at high altitudes for sheep and goats as well as hunting for dangerous game. He has harvested Africa 's “Big 6” as well as other dangerous game around the world. Though not a competitive trophy hunter, he has harvested in excess of 100 SCI “Top 10” animals. Hunting Whitetail in South Texas , where he lives with his wife and two sons, is still his favorite.
Ricardo is committed to wildlife conservation and game management. He has spearheaded breeding projects for endangered species such as Barasingha, Père David Deer, Addax and Scimitar-horned Oryx. Through these efforts, he hopes to contribute to maintaining a healthy and huntable population with an eventual re-introduction to their native habitat. Additionally, he has re-located Texas Whitetail Deer and Rio Grande Turkey to areas of South Texas and Northern Mexico where poaching activity and over-grazing by cattle ranchers had nearly eliminated them.
